"Laura's Totems"

We love Laura Mear's porcelain pieces so we're basing this challenge
 on her animal totems.  And... in addition to our standard prize awards we are adding an Artist's Award, letting Laura choose her favorite. The winner of the Artist's Award will receive $75 toward any of Laura Mears' pieces.

The rules this time are pretty straight-forward.  You must incorporate each of the elements of the kit. You need not use all of each element but it must be apparent that each element was used. You may add up to 5 additional elements of your choice. Registration is open now!

The entry fee for the ‘Laura's Totems' Challenge is $35 which includes the kit. Registration begins November 4th and the kits will be ready to pick up on Monday, January 2nd.  Finished pieces need to be returned to the store by Monday, February 13, 2012.  Voting will be from February 17th through March 13th and winners will be announced on March 16th. Judging will be by ballot from in-store customers and online by poll.

Out of town?  We encourage you to enter!  We will charge an additional $12.00 for shipping ($6 to ship your kit to you and $6.00 to return ship your project at the end of the Challenge).  We only ship via USPS Priority Mail. If your piece does not fit in the standard 'small flat rate' box, additional shipping charges will be required for return shipping. If you get your kit shipped to you, be sure to ask if you need additional beads.  That way we can ship them with your kit at no extra charge.	The kit includes:  - 1 Porcelain Animal Totem      (chosen at random)  - 10g Peanut seed beads, green  - 10g 11° seed beads, taupe  - 10g 11° seed beads, lime/aqua  - 10g 11° seed bead teardrops, bronze  - 24ea. 4mm bicone crystals, blue

Late pieces will not be not be accepted and the entrant will be disqualified.  - Voting: February 17 through March 13  - Winners to be announced on March 16, 2012. Winning pieces will be on display through the end of January.  - All pieces to be picked up by January 15th.  If you mailed your piece we will return ship by the end of the month. If you are a winner your piece will not be returned until the first week of February.
